Francesco Vidotto presents ONESTO

TUESDAY 3 JUNE 2025 - 9 p.m. - FREE ENTRANCE

Biography:
Francesco Vidotto (1976). He grew up amidst the peaks of the Dolomites and worked for twenty years as a consultant and manager for large companies, until he realised something that not even at the Faculty of Economics had taught him: that the greatest wealth each of us has is time. So he returned to his mountains, to Tai di Cadore, where he devotes himself to nature and writing, which has always been his life companion. His short stories and novels include Oceano, published by Minerva editions, much loved by readers who have made it a longseller.

Descriptive text of the book:
On a night of pouring rain, from the window of his house in the woods of Cadore, Francesco sees the figure of a man standing in the midst of the storm and invites him in: ‘I would gladly take shelter. If it rained wine I would refuse, but it is raining water’ is the reply.

This is how Francis makes the acquaintance of Guido Contin, known as Cognac, his face marked by wrinkles engraved like the rocks of the Dolomites and his eyes as blue as the sky.

And it is there, as the comforting warmth of the fire dries his wet clothes, that Guido Contin aka Cognac pulls out a wrapper containing some very special letters: each one is addressed to one of the majestic mountains that surround them,

and each one tells a piece of the life of Onesto, who has lost everything and yet considers himself the richest man in the world…

Because loving is the opposite of possessing, and a desire burning in the heart is worth more than a thousand riches.
